For the first time in its 48-year history, SWIFT made its way to Edmonton International Airport (YEG), welcoming 521 delegates from across Canada, the US and beyond – the highest attendance since 2014.

The week kicked off with the Canadian Airfield Pavement Technical Group (CAPTG) Workshop, bringing technical specialists together for a focused programme of discussion and knowledge exchange. From there, delegates moved into three days of conference sessions, with two dedicated tracks covering Operations and Pavement Technical.

But SWIFT is about more than what happens in the conference room.

The 2026 Equipment Edition was bigger than ever, with a record number of exhibitors showcasing the latest equipment, technology and airfield solutions. Live demonstrations added another dimension to the programme, giving delegates the chance to see the latest innovations in action and operating in a real-world airfield environment.

And, of course, there was plenty of time to connect outside the conference programme. The Welcome Night, sponsored by Aeromag, with drinks courtesy of Gazzola Paving, got the week off to a flying start, while Eagle Night, courtesy of headline sponsor Team Eagle, brought delegates together at the rooftop bar of the Canadian Ice House.

The Expo Social, sponsored by ASGlobal, provided another opportunity to catch up with old friends, make new connections and celebrate the industry that makes SWIFT what it is.

With attendance continuing to grow, an expanding exhibition and an ever-stronger sense of community, SWIFT 2026 demonstrated once again why bringing the industry together matters.

And now, SWIFT’s heading east. SWIFT 2027 will take place at the Hotel Bonaventure in Montreal from 13-16 September 2027, with a larger venue ready to welcome the SWIFT community for another packed programme of learning, networking, equipment and innovation.
