From September 22-25, 2025, Niagara Falls became the centre of airfield innovation and collaboration as the SWIFT Conference & Expo, hosted by the Greater Toronto Airports Authority (YYZ) and organised by Aviation Events Group (AEG) on behalf of the SWIFT Committee, welcomed 426 delegates from across Canada, the United States, and beyond.

Held at the Sheraton Fallsview, this year’s event underscored SWIFT’s growing reputation as a must-attend gathering for airport professionals navigating today’s complex operational and technological challenges.

The conference opened with workshops from the Canadian Airfield Pavement Technical Group (CAPTG) and Complex Airfield Systems Strategy (CASS) before three full days of sessions and demonstrations began. Delegates could tailor their experience through Operations and Pavement Technical tracks, ensuring a dynamic and relevant learning environment for all.

The Innovation Theatre added buzz to the Expo floor with presentations from Accipiter Radar, Falcon Environmental, ICC Distribution Group, Chemco, and TKH Airfield Solutions – culminating in the crowd-favourite ‘Airside Jeopardy’, an energetic test of airfield knowledge and quick thinking.

“It’s great to meet with like-minded individuals on the bleeding edge of airport technology and airside operations,” said Nicholas Ingold, SWIFT Committee Member and delegate from YOW – a sentiment shared by many attendees inspired by the event’s forward-looking discussions.

Evenings were just as memorable, with a surprise comedy performance from Justin Shaw kicking off the Welcome Night and the stunning Eagle Night hosted by headline sponsor Team Eagle at the Fallsview Rooftop Pool & Bar offering a breathtaking backdrop of Niagara Falls. The Expo Social closed the week in a relaxed, convivial atmosphere.

Looking ahead, SWIFT 2026 will be hosted by Edmonton International Airport (YEG) from September 14-17, 2026. This will be a full equipment edition, featuring the Expo at the YEG airfield showcasing the latest in vehicles, machinery, and airfield technologies, with conference sessions taking place downtown at The Westin.
