Predicting event attendance numbers has been spectacularly tricky in the wake of the pandemic. So much experience was lost between 2020 and 2021 and many chose not to return to work when travel restrictions were finally lifted while airports were forced to slash travel budgets. SWIFT 2024, at the Sheraton Wall Centre in Vancouver from September 17-19th, had the highest recorded attendance of any ‘non-equipment’ year which is testament to the industry’s desire to exchange ideas and address challenges facing N American airports.
“This year’s event has been fantastic and we are thrilled that the YVR team was able to play its part in building on the momentum from SWIFT 2023 in Winnipeg,” said Beth Henschel, Director, Airside Operations at Vancouver Airport Authority. ‘The ‘Better Together, Working Together’ philosophy for 2024 delivered for both hub and community airports and, from early delegate feedback, has put SWIFT firmly on track for an even better event in 2025.”
